what we do

what we do

We will achieve together

1.  IMPACT

Recover the most endangered species from threatened extinction. Film is used a call for action to tackle the most pressing sustainability priorities for wildlife globally. Australian is one of 17 mega diverse nations and almost all of our wildlife is found nowhere else in their world. We have the worst rate of mammal decline out of all developed Nations. The vision of WEO is to bring Australia from the bottom rung of the ladder for species extinction to the top.

The apocalyptic bush fires in 2019 / 2020 saw three billion animals perish and over 18 million hectares of land burn, compounding this problem even further.

WEO has partnered with and continues to work strategically with a large ecosystem of professional and reputable Wildlife and Environmental organisations throughout Australia.

We are a facilitator. This key component enables us to centrally analyse and match funding needs to the needs of endangered species. It also allows us to be precise in how we drive forward endemic ecological recovery and restoration together with our partners.

We support biodiversity acquisition and preservation efforts, rewilding of both native plant and wildlife species, and rescue and rehabilitation of native species. We support Film Directors and Producers working directly to achieve these outcomes.

WEO take a proactive stand in liaison with State, National and International policy decision makers in the Wildlife and Environmental space.

2.  ECONOMIC Funding

Wild Earth Oceania are an essential part of the step-up in funding that is needed to flow to Conservation globally. Our revenue is derived  through a strong Economic and Tourism R.O.I. through our Wild Earth Oceania events.

3. AWARENESS

Wild Earth Oceania raise awareness of the crucial role Wildlife play in balancing biodiversity and preventing the emergence of further zoonotic disease. We also provide education on Indigenous bush fire prevention. Through relationships, education, making and supporting films that tell these stories, we achieve this outcome.

Our World class platform in Australia’s most iconic location is the site for this Australian first Film Festival. Wild Earth showcases Wildlife, Indigenous, Environmental and Natural History Films, 75% of which are World or Australian Premieres.

Increase the number of native species in Australia.

We need action to address Australia’s climate and biodiversity crisis.  Australia has the worst recent rate or mammal decline out of all Westernised nations. WE have a vision to unequivocally turn this around.
