our ambassadors

a statement.

Our vision is to create a thriving and sustainable
future for Wildlife and People in Oceania.

Wild Earth Oceania are Australia’s first film festival and movement ever purely focused on Wildlife. As such we pay tribute to all of the Indigenous elders of this extraordinary land, your land. We acknowledge that trauma is real and that not only have we traumatised First Nations People, but that we have traumatised country. We are here to put things right and to facilitate healing of wildlife, land and people. We know that starts with listening hard and we are here with an open heart and mind to learn from your wisdom and being. We are about action, not just advocacy.

“No one is a stranger to the planet, neither are we. Humans are entirely part of this fascinating and mystery enigma called life. We are bounded to Nature and rely on it. When we embrace it, Nature has so much more to offer us than just resources. Nature can nourish us deeply and contribute to finding an inner balance to live with profound joy and harmony for the rest of our lives.

Wherever we are on Earth, images, either still or moving, are a mirror of who we are collectively as a species and how we share planet Earth. Images can capture us, they connect us emotionally. One image has the power to stand for those who cannot speak their words. It is a way to remember the past but also to understand where we are heading, by highlighting issues of our world. Images became the storytelling of humankind.”  – Florian Ledoux
